| Introduction | www.fatimalowe.com- I am a singer actress with a day job! I love my job and the people I work with. My job is great because it allows me the freedom and flexibility to promote my art and do my thing! Not to mention, they buy my CD's! Gotta love it right? I am married to the most beautiful and compassionate creature I have ever encountered- nearly six years! Yeah baby! In terms of the singing/acting stuff, I have done everything from singing on cruise ships, to television (Seinfeld, Beverly Hills 90210, DIVAS...), off broadway theatre (currently in a gospel play called STEM), session work. You name it! Short of stripping, I've probably done it. I used to be in a urban contemporary gospel group called Spiritual Pieces. We released two albums under Tommy Boy's gospel label. And now, I'm doing my own thing "indie style" My new CD Purge and Re-Member was released June 22, 2005 under my label Create Path Works! I'm lovin' the grind of being an indie artist. It requires a lotta' work. But damn! It feels so good! |
| Interests | I enjoy hiking, camping, the beach, lounging, reading, yoga, and new to pilates (ouch...but I'm willing to hang in there a lil' while longer). |
| Favorite movies | Magnolia, Crash, Car Wash, Cooley High, Amelie, Muriel's Wedding, Rabbitproof Fence, Hotel Rwanda, Finding Neverland, and so many dag on others. I could write for days but I won't. |
| Favorite music | I love discovering cool indie talent...stuff that is under the radar. Just about evry genre is appealing. Gospel: Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Tonex etc-I also like contemporary artists like India Irie, Jill Scott, Counting Crows, Amel Larrieux, John Legend, James Taylor and Sting. I like artists who have some "meat" to their lyrics. It's thought provoking, challenging and inspiring. |
| Favorite books | I just frickin/' love to read dude! What???!!! If it's got ink, pages and is in anyway uplifting of selp help oriented I probably would like it. Lately though, I've been gravitating towards books on spirituality and health as well as self help. |
