| Introduction | I was born and raised in a village on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. I migrated to the big city, Johannesburg, to work as a financial journalist and later a business editor. Now I am living and working in New York where I write a weekly column for the South African Sunday Times and have a weekly feature, Imelika nezayo, on South Africa's biggest radio breakfast show, Vuka Mzansi Breakfast show, on the continent's largest radio station, Ukhozi FM. I also write Global View, a column in South Africa's DESTINY and DESTINY MAN magazines which profiles Africans living and working successfully in the diaspora. All of this work I do under the banner of my media company, LM Media LLC. In-between the work, I am raising a teenage daughter and we are both taking full advantage of the opportunities this wonderful city has to offer. I'm no social butterfly, but I go to my fair share of interesting events in the city. Plus, as cliched as it may sound, this truly is the city that never sleeps, so even without any scheduled events...there is always something awesome going on in NYC. |
