How is an ankle unlike a consequence?
Oh, this question is so very appropriate for me - the one recovering from ankle surgery. In MY particular situation, I would have to say this: usually, consequences are immediate and swift. My ankle injury and recovery has been neither. This concludes today's ironic look at the universe.
