| Introduction | I am a wildlife film-maker who has lived on Sal since 2007. I intended to make a film about turtles but I only ever saw beaches littered with carcasses of slaughtered nesting loggerheads. The organisation I run, SOS Tartarugas, was founded in 2008 to protect turtles. Rasher was a six year old Border Collie/Labrador/Rottweiler cross. Born in Ireland, he travelled to many countries before he was killed by poison in an act of pointless cruelty. He died after eating strychnine laced meat which was left on the RIU Funana, Sal beach by the Delegation of Health at the request of the RIU Manager Giorgio Chiarel. |
