| Introduction | I grew up in Good Hope Illinois. Graduated from WIU in 1982 with a Political Science major and a Philosophy minor which I found out later made me 'one with my poverty.' My Father had invested in a small 'Mom & Pop' cable TV system in SC so I moved down there. Talk about your culture shock! I went to a Halloween Party at a 'private' club (private meant you weren't black) and I heard some commotion by the front door, I turned to look and a man came in in his "official" KKK uniform. Needless to say I didn't stay in SC much longer. I moved to Winchester Va. to work with a friend of mine doing contract cable installations. One of the companies we worked for was Adephia, later known for the fact that the owner and his family treated the company like their own personal piggy bank. Living in that region is why I am a Redskins fan, the team had Joe Theisman, John Riggins, Art Monk, and The Hogs at the time. They aren't quite back to their former glory yet, but I can always hope. I have been a StL. Cardinals fan since I was a little boy. |
