About me

LocationStrafford, NH, United States
IntroductionWhen I became a stay at home dad in January of 2007 I was 378 lbs. I knew I had to make a change to be around for my boys and to set a good example for them as well. I joined Weight Watchers and began to exercise, only walking at first. When I got to my goal weight of 168 lbs (thank you WW)I began running. I signed up for my first 5K to force myself to take it to the next level. I did the Couch to 5K program to prepare myself and in September of 2008 I ran in the Doug Flutie Jr. 5K to benefit Autism. I continued to raise money for the Flutie Foundation in 2009 by running 14 5K's for their benefit. Why the interest in Autism? In 2008 my wife lost her brother Jay in February. Our youngest son Cameron was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes in March and then with Autism in June. It was a trying year. Thank God I was healthy. I needed the strength. I love running because you are able to test your limits. I run now because my mind needs it, my body yearns for it and my heart loves it. Most of all I run to show my sons that anything is possible and all that matters is finishing strong. This blog and every race I run are dedicated to my two boys Aidan and Cameron.
