| Introduction | Emily began practicing yoga in 2000 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has been teaching since 2010. A lifelong athlete, she first looked to yoga as a physical practice but over the years discovered the benefits extended to her total wellness. Her education in kinesiology from the University of Michigan has fostered a deep appreciation for anatomy and physiology. Emily’s goal as a teacher is to encourage personal awareness and inner peace to students through a dedicated and challenging practice. She is currently studying with Paul Cheek in preparation for Iyengar teaching certification. She also completed a Yin teacher training intensive with Uma Kleppinger in 2010. Emily volunteers as a teacher for the non-profit Living Yoga, whose mission is to teach yoga as a tool for personal change to people who would otherwise not have access to it. She is also the committee chair for their annual Yogathon fundraising event. |
