Introduction | Judith grew up in spacious, rolling Iowa farm country. She learned at an early age to appreciate the beauty of animals, both in the wild and as patient servants and companions of man; the pride of the men who worked the land; and the land itself. Judith's interest in art paralleled her interest in animals, and her knowledge of them increased with her skill at depicting them. Her watercolors and pencils show a mastery of the medium, and attention to detail, combined with a respect for the need for more than just photographic realism, the need to convey the spirit or mood, feeling that each individual painting must have its own life. It has always been important to Judith to paint stories of what she sees outside and feels inside. Her watercolors have carried many ribbons throughout the years. She is primarily a self taught artist with the exception of her senior art class in high school and over two years at Hallmark Cards. She is a member of the Society of Animal Artists, and the Equine Art Guild. Lost is our heritage but for our visions.
