About me

Introduction	Hi and Welcome to my Chinese Medicine blog live from Sydney’s Inner West! I’m a Newtown based acupuncturist and this blog is my humble attempt at demystifying Chinese medicine for the layperson.
Interests	I came to Chinese Medicine from a martial arts background, whilst practising the Korean art of Siplaki-do in the late 80s. That was the first time I heard about Qi or the inner workings of the body's energy centres, and it fascinated me. I was young and impressionable, and a demonstration about defence techniques using acupuncture points was captivating. That was it really, I was hooked! My clinical focus is on preventive health, which includes treating most medical complaints as well. I practice at Nature’s Energy (former Crystals & Beyond) at 207 King St Newtown, so if you’re in the area by all means pop in and say hi! I have been working as an acupuncturist for eleven years and hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture from the University of Technology, Sydney, and I am an accredited member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.
