| Introduction | I’ve started blogging when this medium was in its infancy, but in 2004 it was time to start my own blog—Liberal Citizen. Most people used nicknames back then, and, for a lack of a better word, I used “Andros” which means “man.” I've found the ideas of liberalism--which came out of the Enlightenment and the Age of Reason--very appealing. A liberal democracy is not perfect but provides the necessary conditions so people can fulfill their own potential. Life is a journey, not a means to an end, and it should be enjoyed to the fullest. I advocate secular humanism and the scientific method—both of which enhance a progressive culture of life. I like ideas and intellectual pursuits; philosophy intrigues me. Understanding the human condition and behavior is a quest. Communication is an art. Through this blog I’m adding my voice to the dialogue taking place in our polity. Welcome to my blog. |
