| Introduction | Ever since I was a kid growing up in Canada, I have been amazed at the wonder of being able to float across water. Leaning over the side of a canoe or rowboat and watching the fish swim by among the weeds reaching for the sun was about as miraculous an event as any kid could experience. As an adult my fascination has never ceased. When I'm not busy as the director of an international Christian non-profit, I'm searching for rivers and lakes to throw in a canoe and let my mind slip away for a few hours. I'm not a purest. I don't wait until I can travel to the Boundary Waters in order to do some paddling. In fact, the St. Joe River near my home is more than sufficient to get a fix. However, I do look for locations around the Midwest and love to hear from others about their experiences. That's why I started this blog. I want to share some of my discoveries and learn about yours. So if you're as fascinated with paddling as I am, share your story, thoughts and insights. |
