Introduction Like my protagonist, I am a branch manager for a mortgage office of a Missouri bank. I also own the original Cami, the 1979 Camaro featured in my books. I am a member of the Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, the Southeast Missouri Writers’ Guild, and the Missouri Writers’ Guild. My short story, DEATH BEE HUMBLE, appeared in the SEMO Writer’s Guild Anthology for 2012, and my newest short story, DEATH TO PONDER will be in a mystery anthology this spring. My first Rhetta McCarter book, KILLERWATT, was nominated for a 2011 Lovey award for Best First Novel and was a finalist in the 2012 Indie Excellence Awards. My second book, KILLERFIND, released in 2012, won First Place in Missouri Writers Guild Show Me Best Books for 2013. My short story, Rear View Mirror, won third place in the Missouri Writers Guild 2013 Awards. Killerfind was also a finalist in the 2013 Indie Excellence Awards for Best Mystery Novel. Besides writing, my hobbies include painting, fishing, photography, flower gardening, and restoring muscle cars with my son, Jeff.Together we own S & H Dream Machines.
