| Introduction | A few months back (2010) on what was supposed to be a quick run to the GP, a lump was found in my throat. An ultrasound, blood tests and biopsies showed that I have thyroid cancer. Here I was thinking myself invulnerable and emotionally strong getting an unexpected blow. So, drawing on my medical training, I combed books and the internet looking for information. That was a mistake! A clinical approach was okay but I found myself drawn more to personal accounts of people like me who are faced with a disease that is the "baby" of the Big C family. This realization made me decide to write this blog. Hopefully, it can become an informative guide written by a cancer insider in so many ways. |
