| Introduction | I am the only child of my parents although I have eight half brothers and sisters. As a child I was separated from my parents because of the stigma that was attached to couples who were not married in 1964. This actually worked to my advantage as I was surrounded by a world of people who "chose to raise me". From them, I learned valuable life lessons, the most important, love, in ones life. From my own journey, and a debilitating condition I had as a young child, I learned determination. Those two life lessons have made me the person, and mother, I am today. "Firm in my conviction" to never give up on myself, my child, or those I love. |
