| Introduction | One of the "baby boomer" generation, I recall when you could buy a black pudding, cup of black-eyed peas, bag of hot taters in their skins with butter on Bury Market, a Woodbine and a match and still get change from a bob. My daughters are both grown up and fled the coop but neither got to be the first woman to open the batting for Lancashire - as their younger dad fantasised. |
