IntroductionAnne Brooks-Senftleben, founder and chief economist of this blog, was born and raised during the post-war economic boom of Germany's famed social market economy, a glorious time when Germany's population benefited greatly from competent economic policy makers. She is an internationally trained macroeconomist and investment manager with nearly 30 years of professional experience in international organizations (World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank), research and teaching (USA and Germany), as well as investment banking. Anne holds a MA in economics from the American University and an executive MPA for senior professionals from Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School, with a focus on economic policy and strategy. She further wrote a dissertation on the economic and financial determinants of portfolio investments at the Ibero-America Institute for Economic Research in Germany.
