| Introduction | Born and raised in the suburbs of Texas and very proud of my roots! My parents moved me to Colorado at the tender age of 16. After high school, I had no direction at all. At 20 years old, I was not in college and working dead end jobs. I craved excitement. Well, that excitement came in the form of an enlistment in the Navy. Ha! Talk about a wakeup call! So after moving to Great Lakes for boot camp and training, first assignment in California, second in Japan, a wedding in Australia, third and fourth assignments in Hawaii and two kids born 22 months apart, I decided I had my fill of full time Navy. Now in my early 30's, I'm embracing the country life and slowly trying to extract myself from the rat race we all seem to be stuck in. Goals are to be self-sustaining and debt free by my 40th birthday. Don't know if Country Bloke and I can do it but we are going to give it our best shot! Lastly, I have a slight obsession with Country Living (the magazine) so you will see many references to it throughout my blog! |
