| Introduction | Born in Allahabad, brought up in Delhi I served media for over 27 years. Write Blogs-- 'Second Opinion' (English) and 'मेरे ख़्याल से' (Hindi-- Mere Khayal Se) expressing concern on issues I feel strongly about. Also make my share of contribution to the cooking Blog 'मेरी रसोई में/ Meri Rasoi Mein' owned by my wife Prof. PRAKRITI RAI. Started career from English daily 'Patriot'. Switched to TV and worked for ANI and Sahara Samay news channel. Shifted to online news and became one of the founders of samaylive.com & saharasamay.com. Privileged to have an enlightened family background. My father (Lt.) Vinaya Kr Rai was a prof of psychology. He has several books and numerous write-ups to his credit. My grandfather Mahtab Rai, General Manager with 'AAJ' newspaper, Varanasi, was younger brother of Munshi Premchand, legendary Hindi writer/ novelist. My mother Smt Pushpa Rai is from Lucknow. She is the youngest sister of (lt.) Sumitra Kumari Sinha- renowned Hindi poetess who served AIR, Lucknow and earned fame as Batasha Bua. |
| Interests | A keen observer, Travel whenever time and money permits, Photography, and Old Hindi songs. Foodie by nature and never spare a chance to eat what interests most. Also make my share of contribution to the cooking Blog 'मेरी रसोई में/ Meri Rasoi Mein' owned by my wife Prof. PRAKRITI RAI. Passionate about Greenery. I love sowing new fruit/flower plants whenever possible. Strong Opinion on social development issues draw my attention. |
