Introduction	Reaching out to others is both an avocation and a vocation ... a commitment for living. How does one reach out? This is the topic for exploration. I travel a lot, eat a lot and take many photos. I am now retired. But once was active as a higher education leader and former university professor at the University of Arizona and the University of Maryland, I specialized in outreach education and Cooperative Extension. My disciplinary field is agricultural and natural resource economics including public policy. My wife, Charlotte Smith Wade, and I have recently relocated to beautiful Western North Carolina.
