Introduction I am a Chinese-American immigrant, married to a French immigrant. When I married my husband, I experienced the difficulties of an adult immigrant: getting his education recognized by companies, postponing plans for a dream job, and keeping up his confidence in a culture with different values. I remember the emotional strain, uncertainty, and helplessness we felt during the immigration process. Before we were married, and while I was a law student, I applied for a fiancé visa for him, on my own. It took hours of learning. I didn't get everything right because I had to submit additional evidence, which meant we had to wait even longer for our life to start. The whole process was very stressful. I share my story because I want to take what I have learned from my own immigration process to help other couples with theirs. I would be happy to listen to and to help tell your story so that your green card application can be approved and you’ll be able to build your life together.
