| Introduction | I'm a librarian by day and a writer by whenever-I-can-eke-out-a-few-uninterrupted-minutes. When I'm not wrangling cantankerous fictional people or earning a living, I garden, listens to 80s rock at ear-bleeding volume, and hang out with her husband, son, and reyhounds in Tucson, Arizona. I've lived in 5 states and 3 time zones, the majority of the time in Northern California (where I was born and raised) and Portland, OR. You can stop by my website (janetalcorn.com) or follow me on Twitter (@ja_alcorn) if you have nothing better to do. |
| Interests | Writing, gardening, travel, 80s metal and glam rock (the louder the better) |
| Favorite movies | Star Wars (original trilogy, Rogue One; we do not discuss the prequels), Men In Black, Wonder Woman, The Princess Bride, Independence Day, The Hunger Games (first film is the best adaptation from a book I've ever seen) |
| Favorite music | Def Leppard! Other 80s metal and some 80s pop |
| Favorite books | Too many to list! Outlander series, most of Charlaine Harris' books, Harry Potter series, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lincoln Rhyme series, Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie mysteries. |
When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?
No, I started a band called the Frozen Roses and hired the science teacher to design our stage. At the end of each show, a hammer the size of a small skyscraper would smash a rose the size of Godzilla. It was epic.
