| Introduction | Christie just finished her first year teaching at FHTMS. Her route to public school teaching has been circuitous. She began in a traditional teacher education program, followed by two years of intensive graduate work, two and a half years teaching in Northeastern Ukraine, five years teaching in the fields, forests, wetlands, and farmland at Shelburne Farms, and then finally between the walls (and outdoor classroom limits) at FHTMS. When she is not working with the world's most amazing sixth graders, she is spending time with her partner - Mohamad, kayaking, hiking, cooking, reading, traveling, or dreaming up places to travel to. |
