| Introduction | I am a senior citizen, a sixty-something woman. I started out a bit differently though. I was born with a boy's body. Throughout childhood, adolescence, and much of my life I existed as that gender. Reluctantly I came to accept this discrepancy. I married and have had a mostly happy life. My wife and I had a beautiful daughter and have been together for over forty years. When I reached my mid-fifties all of this began to unravel. I reached a point where I could no longer continue living non-authentically. I had to find a way to live the rest of my life as my true self, as a woman. So began a journey to transition to my true, correct self. |
