Introduction I am Elizabeth and I attend a fashion college in NYC that is focused on the business side of the industry. Although I escape the wanna be Marc Jacobs, they are replaced with the wanna be Anna Wintour's. I consider myself to have an above average background in all things fashion related, but feel out of place along my classmates and fellow New Yorkers. I have created this blog in order to dare myself to take more risks in fashion, gain advice and opinions from others, and learn more about the industry I am about to dedicate my life to.
Interests All aspects of the fashion industry, public relations, the window displays on 5th avenue (especially at Christmas time, nothing is more special then 57th-70th street on 5th at Christmas), traveling to other cities, having a love hate relationship with my long island roots, my friends, twisted humor, sequins and fur coats, half sleeves (especially on girls), hipsters and other odd elements of our generation that will one day lead to my grandchildren wearing ripped tights and a plaid shirt so they can be a "2000's hipster" for halloween, photography in its un altered state, Ben Gibbard, Seth Rogen, Reading New York magazine on Mondays, Fashion week in New York, European culture as a whole, funny women, pretty boys and manly men, and nothing in between, good advertising, Chloe Sevigny, Ralph Lauren, the American dream, My two dogs Cookie and Teddy, and the demented mutants they created together, imitating my mothers accent and my fathers awkwardness, dreaming and imagining my future, walking down my block and being inspired to one day own one of those beautiful brownstones and of course all that makes up Manhattan.
Favorite Movies Almost Famous, Love Story, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Last Kiss, Little Miss Sunshine, The Dreamers, A league of their own, Sabrina, Clueless, Sixteen Candles, American Beauty, Cruel Intensions, When Harry Met Sally, The Virgins Suicide.
Favorite Music I hate this question, but for your information Death Cab and The Beatles will always have a place in my heart, I adored the 80's, Nightmare of you makes me proud to be from long island, as does Billy Joel, but I can understand why the whole state of New Jersey loves Bruce, I have a quote from a Doors song on my back and when Beyonce's not playing Jesus, Lady Gaga fills in.
Favorite Books Pretty Little Dirty, The Good People of New York, Are you there, vodka? its me chelsea, i hope they serve beer in hell, any thing by Laurie Notaro, Smash, Dear Diary and 1, 000 places you must see before you die.
