| Introduction | I'm an activist/advocate/sustainable development worker living in Brooklyn, NY, EEUU. I thrive on interactions and relationships that make me question what I know and inspire me to think and feel further still. I've been involved in solidarity work in Latin America and previously worked in the immigrant rights movement in NYC on labor, education rights and health access. I appreciate the rule of law but I love justice more, the deep kind: restorative, community based and the poetic. My background is in critical social theory, political economy and Latin American studies. I have an MA in International Affairs and focus on socio-economic development though my interests in the field are diverse. Before moving back to NYC in late 2009, I spent two years working in sustainable development and environmental education in Nicaragua. I work primarily in Education Access and coordinate a College Access program at the East River Development Alliance in Queens, NY. We work mostly with students who are the first in their family to go to college. |
