About me

Location Rural, Kentucky, United States
Introduction I am Maria Barker,Beloved and Devoted wife of Gerry Barker. Welcome to our adventure! We value thought, despise underhandedness, and understand that there is no true freedom without responsibility. Connecting the Dots is our record of how we make the essential connections between decisions and consequences, how we make those decisions, and why. You are welcome to disagree with us, and tell us why you do, but you must do so in a thoughtful and polite manner.
Interests In no particular order..., Naturism, Peak Oil, Learning, Dancing, Spinning and Weaving, Animal Training, Living History, Reading, Movies, Philosophy, Hiking, Travel, Sustainable Living, Art, Alternative Lifestyles, Movies, Linguistics, Healthy Sexuality, THOUGHT., That'll do for now. I'll add more as I think of them.
Favorite Movies Changing the question from Favorite, to Important. The most influential movies I have seen this year are:, Religulous, F.L.O.W., Forgiving the Franklins, and, Earthlings, Especially Earthlings. If you have not seen it, do so, but not with young children!
Favorite Music This really depends on my mood. I reach my tolerance level more quickly with Rap Country and Death Metal much faster than with, Enya, Mozart, and, Manheim Steamroller, but really, It Depends.
Favorite Books It is easier to tell you the kind of books I don't care for. Anything by John Saul and his ilk. Hatemongering Demagoguery trying to pass itself off as right-thinking patriotism. Any book that presumes to tell me what to do without giving me a good reason. (And no "The Bible says so" is not a good reason! There may be a good reason aside from it also being in a religious text, those are OK for me)Other than that, it depends. The book I am currently reading is, Mating in Captivity, by Esther Perel. It is a clinical look at whether or not the erotic can survive domestication. No we are not having problems in the sex department, that is what we want to prevent.

My Random Question is: In light of Peak Oil, why are we still making Polyester, and still banning Hemp?
