Introduction	I am a physicist, an inventor and, because computers are such a great medium for invention, a computer scientist. My favorite areas of CS include languages, graphics, and self-supporting systems. My significant accomplishments (with others) in these areas include, Smalltalk, BitBlt, Squeak, and the Lively Kernel. I like to ride bikes in the summer and snowboards in the winter. As a professional I enjoy leading, and working in, small research groups.
