| Introduction | SHIKSHAMITRA, set up in Jan. 2005, is an experimental school and resource centre mainly for secondary education. We are situated in the Chetla area of Kolkata, near the Kalighat metro station. The school section was started in April 2005; it currently has around 33 students (ages 7 – 16) in the morning section, and runs 8 am - 2 pm. There are now also 26 students in the evening computer course, which is rapidly growing and expanding. Our Education Resource Centre has started giving input to various other organizations. |
