Introduction British Painter Paul Freeman studied at Cardiff College of Art, Stourbridge College of Art and the Polytechnic of Central London, School of Photography. After leaving college he began work as a Photographer at the British Museum (Natural History) and began work as a painter in 1986. His work centres on the Figure - Dance and the Nude but includes Marines (seascape, traditional-craft, and ‘Big-boat’ yachting) and Landscape. He also teaches day-workshops (Life-work and Technique) For many years he was a prominent member of the Cambridge Drawing Society, has shown for some years with the Royal Society of Marine Artists (Yachting World magazine commissioned him to paint two works presented as prizes at the Swan/Rolex European Regatta in 1991) He has had a one-man show at the Tryon Gallery in St.James’s, London and work from his Degree-show was selected by the V&A and exhibited there. His work exists in international, corporate and private collections and he now shows mainly at Mandell’s Gallery in Norwich. He lives in Norfolk.
