Introduction | I’m a kid at heart. Though I have all the marks of adulthood, like a marriage and a mortgage, I’d calculate that I’m about 30% adult and 70% kid. My kid-like instincts overpower me at times, like when I encounter an ice cream truck, bubble wrap, or Christmas morning. I know I laugh and talk too loudly in public (I’ve suffered my fair share of shushings), and I’m probably too old to still own a Kermit the Frog doll. But I’ve somehow managed to surround myself with great people, and I wouldn’t change my life or who I am for all the money - or the ice cream - in the world. I’m also a collector of experiences, with nothing to show but the funny and quirky stories that come from them. I’ve had a few exciting ones, like hiking Mt Vesuvius, but inevitably I write about the ordinary ones. The common, everyday experiences often reflect the beauty and humor of life. I hope I can do them justice. Finally, I write for my family. (That’s probably a good thing, since they are my most loyal - and only!- readers.) If my writings get them to laugh or smile, then I’ll consider myself successful. Thanks for reading! |
