| Introduction | Michael Corcoran is a journalist and media critic from Boston who has been published news articles, essays blog posts and book reviews for The Boston Globe, The Christian Science Monitor, The Taiwan News, The Nation, Generation Progress, Alternet, Cbsnews.com, Yahoo News, The Nepal Riser and elsewhere. He often writes about foreign policy, media issues, history and healthcare policy. In 2009 he was nominated for journalist of the year, and awarded prizes for Best History Reporting, best transportation, history and economic reporting by the New England Press Association for his work as a newspaper reporter in Vermont. In 2007 he was selected as an intern for the Nation magazine where he co-wrote a regular feature called "Sweet Victories" with Nation editor Katrina vanden Huevel, which chronicled successes in the progressive movement. He is a graduate from Emerson College's Journalism Department. He also earned master's in international relations from Umass Boston's John McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies. |
