| Introduction | Hi :) My name is Shannon. I'm 32, and live in Auckland, New Zealand. I have a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Massey University and have worked in HR and Recruitment for the past 13 years. I've been involved in all parts of the recruitment process from placing job ads, screening applicants, completing telephone and face to face interviews, through to reference checking and making job offers at the end of the process. You could think of me as the “gate-keeper”, the hurdle you have to get through before your application is put forward for consideration. My job has been to sort through all of the applications so that my hiring managers only see the top 5% of applications received. That leaves the 95% of applications that don't make the cut. I've created this blog to help that 95% by offering tips & advice on how to "Make the Shortlist". I have lots of tips that I'd like to share, but being fairly new to blogging and having an energetic 3 year old means I may not get my posts up as quickly as I'd like.
