| Introduction | I am a Liberal Democrat that was born in Leominster, MA, to a military family that moved every two years. I've lived in over ten different states, as well as a three year stint in Germany. My disease that I was born with gave me great empathy towards those that were in similar situations as I was. I grew up very poor, and as a result I've seen the bottom of the safety net--and it has many, many holes. Despite my young age-25-I vote in every election that takes place in district. I have since I turned eighteen--it is my belief that to waste your vote on not voting is to concentrate power into the hands of those who do not care for your voice, your opinion. I am taking this class to further my knowledge of government. My civics score will sound like I'm bragging. I'm almost abashed to post it. I received an 84.3% and a 9 out of 10 for the Current Events quiz. I'm also a writer in my spare time, so if I come across as overly verbose or ramble, that might have something to do with it. |
