| Introduction | I’m Katherine, a Houston native. I left Houston to go to OU for four years and now I am back, working as a middle school math teacher. I just finished my two year commitment with Teach for America. It was a fantastic experience. I love my job and love the fact that I am doing a lot of really good work for my students. I love to learn new things and I feel like I am constantly growing as a person and try to learn/try new things as often as possible. I am rooted to a core set of Christian beliefs, but I still believe that I need to try new things and experience the many wonderful things that God has put in my path. Sometimes, nothing can beat curling up with a good book after the end of a long day. I just finished reading Bossy Pants by Tina Fey. Love her or hate her, it is a fantastic read. I secretly think that her character, Liz Lemon, is based on the insanity that is my life as a teacher… :). It is probably because of my sense of humor and my love of sarcasm. I LOVE watching movies and go to the theatre often. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you leave right now and see Bridesmaids. GO! |
