| Introduction | I'm an Idaho transplant who's called the Boise area home for nearly 17 years. I've been "single" for four years, and am simultaneously loving and hating single life in Boise after 40! Loving all the wonderful things I do, like hiking, running, backpacking, biking, snowshoeing, wine tasting and hanging out with friends. Loving wonderful times with my family: my 24 year old son (recently moved to Maui), my 22 year old daughter, and the newest addition, my amazing new grandson, Kyler. I'm hating the dating scene, the shortage of active, insightful, interesting men is often disappointing, but hey, that's part of single life after 40! Life after 40 is a series of adventures - some good, some bad, but all real. I share my hopes, fears, disappointments, hurts and joys. I believe that those who care enough to read my words, care enough to be trusted with my heart. | Favorite music | My musical taste is as varied as everything else in my life! I enjoy newer and older rock, some jazz, semi-operatic (a la Andrea Bocelli)... such a mood thing! |
| Favorite books | My fantasy as a child was to be accidentally locked in a library or bookstore over the weekend, and that feeling has never changed! I read almost anything, from mysteries to the Dalai Lama. An old favorite that still touches me is, "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith. I've identified with that book since I was 11 years old. |
