Introduction	I've been teaching middle school English for almost ten years and find it to be fascinating, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. After joining the Seven Valleys Writing Project in 2009, I transformed my classroom into a writing and reading workshop where students work towards independence through doing the authentic work of readers and writers. I have discovered some answers, but I still have a lot to learn.
