Introduction I am a male Lutheran feminist pastor. As a child of the church I did not have the role models of female Lutheran pastors. Those who mentored me were my Sunday School teachers (almost all of whom were women), my women friends during high school and college. I still remember at St. Olaf College my professor George Holt who introduced himself to our class “I am a feminist.” There is the misconception of Lutheran feminism being purported as anything other than recognition of created Biblical and theological equality (Genesis 2 creation story, Paul’s claim that as new creations in Christ that we are neither male nor female). My spouse – baptized a Presbyterian, has a Jewish background, brought her feminist integrity into the Lutheran fold. She has been a great companion upon the pathway of Lutheran feminist faith. I use inclusive language in worship. For example, John Ylvisaker: I Believe I Do Believe (ylvisaker.com) A creedal statement conveyed through musical composition, elegant in it’s unadorned, straightforward Trinitarian theology. It faithfully expresses 3 in 1 without the entanglements of patristic language limitations.
