Introduction | -My name is Tolly Moseley. -I am married to a schoolteacher and musician. He has a million friends, and is the type of guy who loves a good beer, but also loves a good yoga class. Which I find to be a charming combination of personal traits. -My mom has won awards for lip-synching. My dad went on one of his first dates with my mom dressed as a woman. They are my two heroes. (Note: I think Dad's costume was for a sanctioned Halloween party, not just for kicks ... although I've never verified this with him). -I think Austin is an incredibly special city, and I feel very lucky to live here. -This blog is party about my life, partly a loose curation of people, events, and organizations in Austin that I think are noteworthy. -On that note, I'm hardly a culture expert. BUT I do dork out over many things here in town. So, I hope you'll indulge me/send me suggestions. -I find About Me's extremely difficult and basically want to hug you for still reading. -When I was a kid, I: Ate fruit in the bathtub, adored Garfield (but sympathized for Nermal), hated olives (but now I love them), had very large bangs, as well as a retainer that required a KEY to tighten it (?). |

Favorite Books | Well, I'm going through a food memoir phase right now. So anything by Ruth Reichl will do, and I also quite enjoyed Spoon Fed: How Eight Cooks Saved My Life (Kim Severson), as well as Born Round, by Frank Bruni. But on top of those, here are a few titles I'm borderline evangelistic about: -The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, by Sherman Alexie -In Defense of Food, by Michael Pollan, and -Anything by Nick Hornby. If it were available in print I would read that man's bathroom wall writing. |
