| Introduction | 14 years ago I started my first stint in retail. At 16, I sold sweat-shirts with printed water coloured kittens to elderly women and occasionally wore them too. At 20, I had my first commission based job refusing to sell leather jackets to people on welfare, while I struggled to make a living as a university student. At 22, I folded bins full of tiny little baby t-shirts until it was perfect before it got rummaged through again. At 27, I happily decided to make retail my career path, which also undeniably had its downfalls. We often hear about disappointing customer service experiences (i.e. YouTube United Airlines), but very few know about the true life of a real sales associate. I love my job and I work in a great store, where occasionally the devil shops. |
