| Introduction | I hope it will be sufficient to say that I have a Ph.D. in Religion with a speciality in Biblical Studies from the Claremont Graduate School, Claremont, California. I have studied Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, the languages of the Bible. I have also studied the ancient languages of Coptic and Latin, as well as the modern languages of German, French, and Italian. My dissertation was the first English translation of Aelius Theon's first century AD rhetorical handbook. My dissertation is called The Progymnasmata of Aelius Theon and is available from the University of Michigan. |
