Introduction | I've been legally blind since birth, home schooled most of my life, have attended two different colleges, own my first dog guide, and have been in more than half of the United States of America, but plan to hit the rest at some point. I've been a believer since I was very young, two or three years old, and the two most influential people in my life are my wonderful parents. The person I aspire to be like in character is my father. I've never been particularly interested in any sort of advocacy for the visually impaired in any official capacity, definitely not as a career. However I am ready and willing to talk about my experiences, solutions to problems I've encountered that would help other VIP's (visually impaired persons), and answer questions, so I may end up doing advocacy as a career or part-time job at some point anyway. hence this blog. I'm hoping to expand it into a much more useful resource for the visually impaired, their instructors, and family members as time goes on. |
