When you've got water stuck in your ear, how do you get it out?

In the seventh grade I leardned that this was actually a condition called swimmer's ear. You don't have to be a swimmer to get it because it can ahppen in the shower too. I couldn't hear very well for a few days. Ironically everything sounded as if I were underwater. So my mom took me to the doctor, he said it was water stuck in my ear and gave me some eardrops. It cleared right away. :)
