Introduction	A year or so ago when we thought we would be moving out of North Carolina, we decided to see the best that NC had to offer while we were still here - sort of an NC tourist’s bucket list. My wife and I made a point of seeing some of the big attractions, like the Biltmore. Then it slowly became clear that we would be staying in the state for a couple more years and would have more time to complete our list. I was also the stay-at-home dad of two young kids and always looking for places to take them during the week. I wanted to find places that would not only entertain my kids but would also be interesting to me as an adult. So I began taking the kids to sites within an hour of the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) in the hope of identifying those places that would be kid-friendly and interest adults. And because I was beginning a freelance writing career at the same time, I decided to combine the two past times and blog about my adventures traveling with the kids. Occasionally we’ve driven further than the Triangle to see some of the items on our bucket list and I’ve posted these ‘road trips’ on my blog as well.
