| Introduction | Dorset is a very beautiful county, renowned for its World Heritage coastline and unspoilt countryside. It has been my home for nearly 30 years and is the inspiration for most of my work as an artist. Over time I have worked with watercolour, pastel, acrylic and oil but acquired a passion for pastel which still remains my preferred medium. An artist however must continue to develop and express feelings for his art subjects in different and creative ways. It is necessary therefore to push the boundaries beyond one's immediate comfort zone. For that reason my preference is to remain flexible and paint in a variety of media choosing the one best suited to convey my feelings for the subject and my creative mood at the time. Presently I draw my inspiration from the work of American pastelists Bill Creevy and Albert Handell. Some of my original paintings can be seen at the Peter Hedley Gallery in Wareham, Dorset.
