| Introduction | Having walked around 20,000kms since my first pilgrimage in 2005 I am still left with a long list of pilgrimage trails to follow! It is 10 years since I walked for a year in Germany, Austria, Italy, the United Kingdom and in Spain, and so it is time to go on another momentous journey to mark the anniversary. This time I will begin in Germany following the Hildegard von Bingen pilgrimage route before joining various Chemin St Jacques through France, culminating with the Régordane Way in the Cévennes. From France I will again walk the End to End in the UK, linking as many pilgrimage routes as I can, and potentially only retracing my steps for about 200kms. After 180 days in the UK I will return to the Schengen area for the final 90 days where I plan to walk some of the Camino Madrid, the Camino Teresiano, and some of the Via de la Plata to Santiago de Compostela. |
