| Introduction | From her first ride at age 3, Melanie hasn't spent much time out of the saddle. When a dream of her own horse came true at age 9, she was competitive on the hunter/jumper circuit through high school. In college, Mel rode to many victories on the advanced equestrian team and was active in equine sciences. Success begat success and fueled her passion for all things equine. Passion developed into profession when friends and family encouraged her natural photography talent. With the same drive that made her succeed in show ring, Mel set out to capture the spirit and grace of the equines she loved so much. She has since shot extensively at equine events, including the NCAA Varsity Equestrian National Championships, the prestigious HITS Show, the Grand Canyon State Games, and many Warmblood keurings. Her award winning work has been featured in publications such as Practical Horseman, Chronicle of the Horse, The American QH Journal, USEF's Equestrian, Bridle & Bit, and AZ Horse Connection. She spends her time teaching seminars and online classes, shooting stallions and portraits, and when time permits, working her horses Apache &; Daisy. Her mare is in foal to Salto, due May '08. |
