Introduction i've been baking since i needed to pull up a chair to stand on in order to reach the kitchenaid, even then, i stood too short to successfully pour in the carefully measured ingredients without a certain amount of spillage. soon after, the cooking started. i found it odd that my grandpa rex once wrote a note and placed it in his wallet that at the age of 10 i made a complete dinner for our family and grandparents. it seemed odd to me because i had been cooking full dinners for several years by that point. who knew that was unusual? and growing up in one of richest farming lands in the world, "store-bought" never appeared at any potluck and church easter breakfast included homemade sausage. though restaurants are great, it is in our own kitchens that we can customize, sniff, and thoroughly enjoy the entire process of bringing food to the table. raise a fork is about celebrating food, the process of creating food, and the lessons learned in the process.
