| Introduction | Lillian Davies is an art historian and writer based in Paris. Author of Playgrounds (Drawing is Free Press) with artist Chloé Briggs, Lillian contributes to numerous museum catalogues, most recently for Musée d’art contemporain, Lyon and Es Baluard Museu, Palma. Frequent contributor to Artforum, she also publishes articles, reviews and interviews in Art in America, Flash Art, Interview, Numéro, Objektiv and V. Author of Suspect Language: Mounir Fatmi (Skira Flammarion), she is contributing author and co-editor (with Cecilia Alemani and Andrea Bellini) of Collecting Contemporary Art (JRP Ringier), and contributor to books on modern and contemporary art published by Phaidon. Previously editor-in-chief of UOVO magazine (Turin), she has also worked on the editorial team at Tate Publishing (London). Faculty member at Paris College of Art and former faculty at Parsons Paris, Lillian holds a BA in Art History and Comparative Religions from Columbia University, an MA in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art, and has recently conducted doctoral research in a Troisième Cycle at the Ecole du Louvre. |
