| Introduction | Bill Armstrong is a New York city based fine art photographer who has been shooting in color for over 30 years. He is well-known in the photography world for the vibrant colors of his blurred imagery. Mr. Armstrong is represented by ClampArt in New York and numerous galleries across the country and in Europe. Mr. Armstrong’s work is in numerous museum collections including the Brooklyn Museum, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Philadelphia Museum of Art Santa Barbara Museum of Art and the Bibliotheque National de France. He has had work in many museum shows including: the Smithsonian Institute; Hayward Gallery, London; Musee de l’Elysee, Lausanne; Centro Internazionale di Fotografia, Milan; and Southeast Museum of Photography. Mr. Armstrong’s work has been published in many venues, including The New Yorker magazine, Exploring Color Photography, by Robert Hirsch and Face: the New Photographic Portrait by William Ewing. Armstrong was the photographer chosen to be featured in House and Garden’s color issue in 2005. He is on the faculty at the International Center of Photography and the School of Visual Arts in New York. |
