| Introduction | I have been a musician since age 9 I guess, starting out with clarinet. I began serious study of that instrument at an early age and was basically training for an orchestral career. I changed gears though in college and eventually went on to a graduate degree in marine biology. At this time, however, I discovered Billy Joel's music, decided on pursing a career with the piano and have never looked back since. I have throughout my musical life, studied with world renowned teachers and it has become a passion of mine to try to convey their collective musical wisdom to my own students both through private teaching and via my website and now through this blog. I also continue with piano performance and am currently part-time keyboardist with the Moogy Klingman band with our sometime drummer, Liberty Devitto, formerly of Billy Joel's band. |
